Rydal Park, a premier Life Plan Community located in Jenkintown, is hiring a full-time Recreational Therapy Manager to join our team!

The Recreational Therapy Manager leads recreation therapy and life enrichment services for skilled nursing, personal care, and short-term rehabilitation residents. Oversees the assessment, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of individualized and group programs that support residents’ physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and psychosocial well-being.

Manages the department’s daily operations and assigned team members, including program development, clinical care planning, staffing, budget administration, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, resident and family engagement, community events, outings, and relationships with vendors, volunteers, and community partners.

Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday though Friday with occasional nights/weekends

Salary: 65k-75k, depending on experience 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of recreation therapy and life enrichment services for skilled nursing, personal care, and short-term rehabilitation residents, ensuring programs reflect assessed needs, abilities, interests, preferences, and individualized care-plan goals.
  • Completes or oversees required resident assessments, develops individualized recreation therapy interventions and care-plan recommendations, participates in interdisciplinary care conferences, and documents resident participation, progress, and outcomes.
  • Plans and oversees individual and group programs, special events, outings, and adapted activities that support residents’ physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and psychosocial well-being.
  • Provides day-to-day leadership to assigned team members, including work direction, scheduling, payroll review, training, coaching, performance evaluation, and performance management in partnership with Human Resources and authorized leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy, therapeutic recreation, or a related field meeting the educational requirements for the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist credential.
  • Current Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification.
  • Five years of experience providing recreation therapy, therapeutic activities, or life enrichment services in senior living, healthcare, rehabilitation, or a related environment.
  • Three years of supervisory or management experience, including responsibility for scheduling, work direction, employee development, and performance management.
